After 40 Years of Shaklee, Here's Why Vivix+ Got My Attention

A jar of Shaklee Vivix+ NAD+ Booster for Cellular Longevity

I've been taking Shaklee products for more than 40 years.

It started in 1984, when my mom talked a skeptical 22-year-old fraternity kid into giving Shaklee 30 days. (I told that whole story, drop of blood and all, right here.)

So when Shaklee releases something new, I don't get excited easily. I've watched plenty of supplement fads come and go over four decades. Most of them had a catchy name and not much behind it.

Vivix+ is different. Here's why it got my attention, and what Shaklee's research actually says.

What Vivix+ is, in plain words

Vivix+ is Shaklee's new NAD+ booster for cellular longevity. Shaklee calls it "the most clinically proven longevity supplement on the market," and the headline on the product page is a big one: "Clinically Proven to Reverse 8 Years of Cellular Aging."*

It comes as capsules. You take two a day with a meal. It's gluten free, vegan and non-GMO, with no artificial colors or preservatives.

The idea is simple: go after aging where it starts, inside your cells.

Why I trust the science, not the hype

Here's what I've learned after 40 years: Shaklee products work, and there's real logic behind them. They're tested. They're not built on a trend or on fake science.

Vivix+ follows the same pattern. Shaklee says it's backed by 27 patents and proven in 5 clinical studies and 20 laboratory studies.

That matters to me. Anybody can put "anti-aging" on a label. Very few companies put that much research behind one product.

How it works: two pathways

Shaklee describes Vivix+ as a "dual-pathway system." One part helps power your cells. The other helps protect them.

1. The NAD+ Boost Complex. NAD+ is a molecule your cells need to make energy and repair themselves. In Shaklee's words, "NAD+ is essential for cellular energy production and repair, but levels collapse over time." This complex has two ingredients:

  • NMN, a direct NAD+ precursor that boosts NAD+ levels to help power cellular energy.*
  • Apigenin, which helps preserve NAD+ levels by slowing its breakdown.*

2. The patented polyphenol blend. Polyphenols are natural plant compounds with antioxidant properties. Shaklee's multi-patented blend comes from muscadine grape, resveratrol, red wine extract, purple carrot, black currant, pomegranate and chebulic myrobalan. Shaklee says the polyphenols in Vivix are 13x more powerful than resveratrol alone.*

Watch: Meet Vivix+

Shaklee made a short video introducing Vivix+. If you'd rather watch than read, it's a quick way to see what this product is all about.

What the studies showed

These are Shaklee's own findings from the product page. I haven't stretched any of them.

  • Reverse 8 years of cellular aging in just 2 months*
  • The only longevity supplement clinically shown to increase VO2 max without exercise*
  • Clinically shown to deliver 35x more usable NAD+ than IV infusions of NAD+*
  • Clinically shown to increase NAD+ levels by 70% in just 24 hours*
  • Clinically proven to blunt and lower inflammation: double-digit declines in key inflammatory markers*
  • Clinically shown to slow telomere shortening by 57%*
  • Clinically shown to boost endurance by 18% in 2 months*

That VO2 max line is the one that stopped me. VO2 max is how well your body uses oxygen, and Shaklee calls it "the strongest predictor of longevity." Most people think of it as something only hard exercise can change.

Shaklee also reports that the key ingredients in Vivix+ were shown to:

  • Reduce DNA damage by 2/3*
  • Double mitochondria and cellular energy*
  • Form 61% fewer "zombie cells" and eliminate 32% more*
  • Reduce damaging AGE proteins by 13x*

You can read every detail, including Shaklee's study footnotes, on the official Vivix+ page.

The 12 hallmarks of aging

Scientists group the causes of aging into 12 "hallmarks." Shaklee says Vivix+, with its patented ingredient combination, was proven in clinical and laboratory studies to impact all 12.*

Here are a few of them, in plain words:

  • DNA damage. Your DNA picks up damage from the sun, pollution and normal cell activity. When it builds up faster than your body can repair it, aging speeds up.
  • "Zombie" cells. Some aging cells stop dividing but don't die off. They hang around sending out inflammatory signals that harm healthy cells nearby.
  • Inflammaging. Inflammation is supposed to switch off once its job is done. With age it stays on at a low level, quietly wearing down tissue.
  • Shrinking telomeres. These are the protective caps on the ends of your chromosomes. They get a little shorter every time a cell divides.

Why this matters to me now

When I was 22, I didn't think about cells or longevity. I just knew I felt better after 30 days.

Now I think about it a lot. Your health is one of your greatest assets. Without it, so many of the things we work for, the travel, the time with family, the plans for this next chapter, become far less meaningful.

That's why I pay attention when a company I've trusted for four decades puts this much research into one product. Shaklee has been doing this since 1956, and it has never been about fads.

Full disclosure: I'm an independent Shaklee business owner, so I can earn when people order through me. I'd be writing about Shaklee either way. I've been a customer for 40 years.

If Vivix+ has you curious about what Shaklee could do for your health, I put together a free overview of the complete Shaklee health system. It's short, it's in plain English, and nobody's going to pressure you.

P.S. My mom asked me for 30 days back in 1984. Forty years later I'm still taking Shaklee, still learning, and still impressed by the science. That says more than any label could.
